3am Sewing

I am an insomniac! Most of the time I fight it! "If I fall asleep right now, I can get 2 hours and 43 minutes of sleep before the alarm goes off....if I fall asleep rught NOW I can get 57 minutes of sleep before the alarm goes off....if I fall asleep right now.........". You get the picture!

But, if I don't fight it, and get up, and go to my sewing studio...I might just be productive and happy!

The Best Super-Hero Ever

Unfortunately, I did not get pictures of the kids at the bday party in the capes we made, BUT, my sister got a cape and put it on our great nephew, RYDER! He's so stinking cute!

And quicker than the eye, he's off to fight crime....

"SUPER" Day

My friend from work asked me to help her make some "Super Hero" capes for her son's birthday party!

The capes were to be part of the theme plus the take home gift for each child!

We had a great day shopping at Joanns and sewing! She used her new machine for th first time! She was so enthusiastic and excited- warmed my heart!

Her oldest son, Austin was great fun, if not a little bored by the end of the day!

This is the end result:

.???....Hello Kitty SuperHero??

They were a big hit at the party!!

Another Good Book

Although this was written in 1994, this book kept me up until 0230, and I had to get up for work at 0515. The lack of sleep was worth it!

Hello Kitty Apron

My daughter, Melyssa loves everything "Hello Kitty" so for one of her gifts for her bridal shower, I made her a "Hello Kitty" apron!

You can barely see it in this picture, but in this picture:

And this picture:

You can see who wears the pants and apron in the family!

And yes, he is making jello shots for the July 4th festivities!

Fourth of July Challenge

So yesterday was "The Big Reveal" of the july 4th material projects. This was a no-sew challenge between my bestie, Susan and myself. Each of us had 1 1/2 yards of material, and about a 10 day time to come up with a project/projects!

I think it's fair to say that it was a tie!

Susan make a wreath, a frame, a bunting with tied fabric (not shown), and baked some coffee cake and wrapped it with a bow from fabric (for me).

I made a tied pillow, postcard, covered coffee cup,and two pin cushion rings!

I had a blast making these things AND thinking outside the box for non-sew items-- had to get out and dust off my glue gun!

NEXT.....Halloween Challenge!

STAY TUNED..........
