One Off The Bucketlist

One item on my Bucketlist will be crossed off Saturday morning! I am entering a quilt in the OC Fair. The quilt is the one I made for my daughter and son-in-law for their wedding, August 2, 2013:

The pattern is "Storm At Sea".

Another quilt I just put the last stitch in---ready to gift at our friend's wedding tomorrow! Yes it is 1:34am. Yes I do have to get up at 5:16am for work! BUT.....it's done!!!

That's the hubster---holding it up!

Well....off to bed!

Fitness Competition

My daughter and son-in-law are competing this and next month. Finals are in Vegas!

I am so proud of them! It's unbelievable the willpower to eat just the "right" foods, and spend time at the gym, even after working and going to school-even (mostly) at 5am, or 10pm!

To me they are both "winners" because they are following their dreams, and I believe that the path they are on win or lose, has made them stronger, smarter people!

My young friend from work is getting married on Friday!

Today I gave her a Ring Bearer's Pillow, her bridal shower gift from me!

She loved it! Yah!

WIWO

What I'm Working On (WIWO):

Wedding quilt for my friend!

On the frame!

Found this note from my daughter by my machine! Lucky me!

Can Finally Share

I was dying to try this "3 Hour Quilt"pattern that I bought a month ago! I thought I would love to use it for a fabric that I loved so much that I didn't want to cut into it.

Anyway, I had found this really cool heart n stars fabric and knew it would make a great center fabric panel for this quilt:

I decided to make it as a 60th gift for a BFF who was turning 60! I got her 60 gifts that started with "S". Her name is Susan, and "Susan was Sixty" was the theme for her birthday! She was also born on "Flag Day", and she always decorates her house for every single holiday!

Turned out adorable, and from start to flimsy stage was really about 3 hours! But they can't possibly had the back piecing, quilting and binding plus label included in that time - more like an 8 hour quilt!

This will DEFINITELY be one pattern that. I will use over and over!

My friend LOVED her "Star Spangled Quilt" and sent me a thank you note with a bunting with 60 thank you's in 60 different languages! Very creative!

Happy Father's Day

Babies, babies...and more babies!

There are SO many ladies at the hospital who are pregnant!

Theresa and I are up to our eyeballs in bibs, burp-cloths, embroideries and baby quilts!

Lots more to follow!! Stay tuned!

Bragging... I won't deny it!

Remember our daughter decided to compete in a fitness competition? Well, Darkel, our son-in-law (who's always been quite fit) decided to compete himself.

Isn't he just the most handsome guy? Ever? Woohoo!!

Flimsy

Got this quilt top done today, along with a few other secret projects!

This is commissioned from a friend from work. She wanted the parents colleges in it! I did the best I could considering that I could not find fabri from these colleges! I will be lading it on the fame tomorrow and hopefully quilting and binding will be done tomorrow as well!

Also, I was dying to make another scrap quilt! Pulled out my blue and white fabrics and started a pineapple quilt for my son-in-law! As you can see, I used his old NAVY uniform.for the center square!one square down 42 to go! I timed myself and this block took 2 hours to make, because I had to cut up chunks of material into. 2 1/4 inch strips. The next ones should go faster, since all is cut up!

Return To Sender

Our eldest moved partially back home! She was accepted into nursing school (after being on a waiting list....forever) and unfortunately for her and her hubby, the nursing school is 10 minutes away from our house, but 1 1/2 hours from hers. So being the super control freak planner that she is, she got a job here and joined a gym and took back her bedroom!

This is our one and only shopping splurge:

It really was a fun day! I have missed a shopping partner in crime since she and her sister moved out!

She even convinced me to go to the gym!

I definitely need to plant more of these:
