May Madness

Not a lot going on "quilty" wise!

BUT, a lot of good news:

I have a new beautiful great nephew, Colton:

My sister, Jenn sent me a picture with Delilah wearing the dress I made for her:

Melyssa "decorated" her graduation cap...she's crafty!

And as usual, I have been procrastinating the last part of the QOV quilt for my uncle:

Tomorrow?

A Firm Finish and Some...

Put the binding and label,on my nephew's quilt! He will be coming home from Djibouti this week and so I will be able to give this to him!

It's all about the Anaheim Ducks Hockey Team!

On the frame is a Quilt Of Valor...and I will be presenting this to my uncle, a Vietnam Veteran!

And something I am SUPER excited about (because I am lousy at following clothes patterns) is the summer dress I made for my grand niece, Delilah. She LOVES owls!

Can't wait to get a picture of her wearing it!

That was my prototype-I am making more for Lori at HUMBLE QUILTS to take to Bolivia, to give to some needy children there. If you are so inclined, read her post from March 28, 2016 for ways you can help!

Fabric---Caribbean style

Well, OK, the first leg of our vacation was to see my sister-in-law, my 2 nieces and their hubby's, as well as our great nephews(3) and great niece (1) in Florida (also where we got on the Allure of the Seas).

Miami did not have any wonderful quilt shops, but while my husband was hunting for fishing supplies, we passed a HOBBY LOBBY, and as luck would have it, they dropped me off for a shopping excursion! I found many fabrics for my QUILT OF VALOR projects:

One fabric for 2 sundresses I am making:

And a few just because....

On St. Thomas we found a very small quilt shop, FABRIC IN MOTION, where both my husband and I picked up some very pretty batiks.

His picks on top, mine on bottom:

Then when We got home, I had a couple of packages waiting for me! Which is a very good thing to come home to!

This awesome rose print is for a quilt for my mom, a rose lover:

Well, I have now put myself on a strict quilting budget! No further purchases for 2 months, with the exception of supplies to FINISH an already started project! BOO HOO! That means until July 17th!
